If you like pre-packaged and real bad food...

Posted by glenmcunningham on 2/17/2009

We went to Woodys Crab House on February 16, 2009 and were shocked to find that most of the food seemed to be pre-packaged and just warmed up. The homemade onion rings were cooked in stale, dirty oil and were not crispy. The steak that I ordered was cooked to prefection, but the taste was so sour, like the meat had started to go bad before they cooked it. I took one bite and had to spit it out. I sent it back, but was afraid to order anything else. I did not want to end up in the hospital. My spouse who was with me ordered the Sirloin and Crab Cake and was not impressed, took a couple of bites and also sent it back. This place would have been great, if the food had been fresh, because the atmosphere was casual and the staff were quite welcoming, but the only way to improve this restaurant would be a chef with pride in what he sends out of the kitchen.

Woody's makes me drool

Thoughts of Woody';s fresh crab soup and crab cakes makes me drool. The restaurant is a favorite of locals and tourists alike for the good food and atmosphere.

We just moved to this area the first of this year. We have eaten at Woody's twice now and will be going back many, many times. They have great food, good atmosphere, and it is a kid friendly environment.

Crab and More

Food Snob is amazed nobody has reviewed this spot. I tried 4 "Crab Shacks" on a trip East last week, and on the last day found this gem. 4 of us all had something different and none were dissapointed. Everything you want in a local crab house. Fresh local seafood, baked, broiled or fried. Great home brew, peanuts while you wait, great patio on a small seaport town main street. At the top of Cheasapeak Bay, home of the blue crab.... if you get close, do this spot.

Woody's is located in northeast Maryland and is a great place for good seafood. I would suggest trying their crab bisque. It's DELICIOUS! Most of the appetizers range between 6-10 dollars. They also offer good meals for the kids at affordable prices. The entrees go for 10-30 bucks generally. You get fairly large sized portions. If you don't mind the drive there, take a trip down to Woody's on a hot summer night.
